There Is Light, It'll Be Alright

When you feel like your gonna cry,
Reach in your heart to find out why,
Then I promise you'll touch the sky,
spread your wrings and learn to fly.

Just search higher than the ground,
There is love that will be found,
Just laugh and hear that wonderful sound,
Happiness will win you round.

There's something that is brand new,
Just believe what you see is true,
The sky will be cloudy and blue,
There is a life around the corner for you.

When it's dark believe there is light,
And everything will be alright,
Just sing yourself to sleep tonight,
Please hold on to your dreams really tight.

Goodbye Yesterday

My life is so confusing
So full of ups and downs
One day I am in a depression
And feeling so let down

The next day I am happy
My smile is across my face
One day I want to run and hide
Other days I am a twist of fate

Sometimes I live down in the dumps
Other times I am up in the clouds
Sometimes I am disappointed
Then other times I feel so proud

Chalk it up to memories
Ones that you don't need
Discard the days of your past
And quit living in a memory

Yesterday is over
Realize it is long gone
The love you had back then
Is what has made your future strong

Things look so much brighter
When I quit living in the past
And I reach out for my future
Instead of a love that could never last

The grass is always greener
In a pasture you once fertilized
The weeds have now grown over
From a love struck suicide

Do not take steps back wards
For you will never find the light
Walk away from old memories
And love what you have tonight

Realize that past flames
Sizzled out for a reason
Look forward to each new day
And the changing of the seaons

Be happy for who you are
And love the one you are with
Get over old memories
Of a love you can't forget

If you keep on living
With dreams of yesterday
You will never love yourself
Or what you have become today

Realize the past was a planting
Of a little seed
And now your future is blossoming
And you are overcoming the weeds

You have mastered the garden
The future is looking bright
Say goodbye to yesterday
And strap yourself in for a new flight

Yesterday is over
Today you will begin
To let go of all the darkness
And let the new sunlight shine in

Risk

Do not be afraid to shine.
This world needs what you have to give.
Open up the areas of your being;
Expose them to yourself - to others.
You are valuable.
You are unique.
You have much to give.
Do not be afraid to give it.

As we risk ourselves, we grow.
Each new experience is a risk.
We can try, and maybe fail,
And, as a result, grow-
Or hold back and stagnate.

You have the potential
To be anything you want.
You are free to choose.
You are limited only by your fears.
Let your dreams take over.
Fly with the eagles.
Soar into life.
The world is waiting for you

A Poem by Emily Dickinson

Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne'er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.

Not one of all the purple Host
Who took the Flag today
Can tell the definition
So clear of Victory

As he defeated -- dying --
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Burst agonized and clear!

A Poem by Queen Elizabeth I (1533–1603)

The doubt of future foes exiles my present joy,
And wit me warns to shun such snares as threaten mine annoy;
For falsehood now doth flow, and subjects' faith doth ebb,
Which should not be if reason ruled or wisdom weaved the web.
But clouds of joys untried do cloak aspiring minds,
Which turn to rain of late repent by changed course of winds.
The top of hope supposed the root upreared shall be,
And fruitless all their grafted guile, as shortly ye shall see.
The dazzled eyes with pride, which great ambition blinds,
Shall be unsealed by worthy wights whose foresight falsehood finds.
The daughter of debate that discord aye doth sow
Shall reap no gain where former rule still peace hath taught to know.
No foreign banished wight shall anchor in this port;
Our realm brooks not seditious sects, let them elsewhere resort.
My rusty sword through rest shall first his edge employ
To poll their tops that seek such change or gape for future joy.

A New Day

This is the beginning of a new day.
I have been given this day to use as I will.

I can waste it, or use it.
I can make it a day long to be remembered for its joy, its beauty and its achievements, or it can be filled with pettiness.

What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever, but I shall hold something which I have traded for it.

It may be no more than a memory, but if it is a worthy one I shall not regret the price.

I want it to be gain not loss, good not evil, success not failure.

Keep Your Dreams

Keep your dreams-they're richer far
Than the facts discovered are.

Do not seek all things to touch;
Do not want to know too much.

Growing old, still play the child;
Keep some glory undefiled.

What if clouds are mist and air?
Still see ships sailing there.

What would life be if we knew
Only those things which are true?

If the things of bad and good
Were by all men understood.

Nature's hills and brooks and springs
Would be catalogued as things.

Keep your dreams, for in them lies
Joy denied to men grown wise.

Still build castles in the air!
Still see white ships sailing there!

Still have something to pursue,
Something which you wish you knew.

Dare To Be!

When a new day begins,
dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness,
dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice,
dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult,
dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down,
dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope,
dare to find some.

When you're feeling tired,
dare to keep going.

When times are tough,
dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you,
dare to love again.

When someone is hurting,
dare to help them heal.

When another is lost,
dare to help them find the way.

When a friend falls,
dare to be the first to extend a hand.

When you cross paths with another,
dare to make them smile.

When you feel great,
dare to help someone else feel great too.

When the day has ended,
dare to feel as you've done your best.

Dare to be the best you can - At all times, Dare to be!
